CONTRACT AND POLICY
Transfer Application Instructions:
(Article L12.03, L12.13)
Teachers who are applying for a Transfer are also strongly encouraged to apply for the Teacher Exchange Opportunity Program (L12.17) at the same time. Applying to both increases the likelihood that the teacher will be able to move to a different school.
Bargaining Unit Members who wish to be considered for transfer to another secondary school must inform the Senior Administrator in Human Resources in writing no later than March 15 in the school year immediately prior to the school year for which the transfer shall be effective.
A teacher must have been employed by the Board for at least two (2) years prior to requesting a transfer. This provision may be waived at the Board’s exclusive discretion.

Consider the following:

If you select “a beginning of semester transfer only”, You will NOT be considered for any openings mid semester.
"I am willing to split my teaching time between two (2) sites"
If you select “No”, You will NOT be considered for a transfer for semester 2. (ie. Semester 1 at School A, Semester 2 at School B will NOT be possible.)
If you wish to be considered for a transfer in the future to the new school that is not yet built in Guelph please select that option. Teachers who select this option for more than 3 consecutive years will be considered for transfer before teachers who have selected this for 3 years or less when the school opens, as outlined in L12.13.
Use this space to clarify any specific requests or additional information. Examples: I am willing to split my teaching time by semester only (sem. 1 at school A, sem. 2 at school B).
I would consider taking a leave from some of my contract time (1 period) to transfer to school B if possible. Etc.
At the end of each electronic application, there is a checkbox option to “send me a copy of my responses.” Please select this option to retain a copy for your records. The copy will be mailed to your UGCloud e-mail account.

To access the link on UGShare:
Login using your windows login information – this is the same username and password that you would use to login to the school computers.
(Note – if you are logged on to a Board computer, it should automatically authenticate your access to UGShare. You should only be prompted to log in to UGShare if you are using an off-site computer)
From the left side-bar, click on:
Board Departments -> Human Resources -> Forms -> Board Wide
Click on the link “Secondary Contract Teachers – Application for Teacher Transfer”.
You will then be routed to the UGCloud login page.
Enter your windows login information – this is the same username and password that you would use to login to the school computers and UGShare.
The electronic form will open when you click “Sign In.”
Complete the online application form.
