On and Off the Stage

December 14, 2018

Lisa MacNeil (teacher at John F Ross) trained professionally in musical theatre at Sheridan College, and says her first love is the stage and sharing her passion for theatre and dance with students is her second.

Lisa has numerous achievements, including her most recent role with Guelph Little Theater as Beth Jarrett in "Ordinary People," a role immortalized by Mary Tyler Moore in the 1978 movie.  Lisa is very active in the theatre community... this past April she played a lead role in Guelph Little Theatre's "House of Blue Leaves" and last May a lead role in "The Drowsy Chaperone".  This coming spring she has been cast as the nurse in Guelph Little Theatre's "Romeo and Juliet".

To top this off, Lisa has been nominated for Best Lead Female actress by both Theatre Ontario and The Western Drama League Festival. Looking ahead Lisa has been invited by the Western Ontario Drama League Festival to give a movement workshop in March, as well as training with Theatre Ontario to be a theatre adjudicator.

Break a leg Lisa!
