Labour Day Car Parade

The Guelph and District Labour Council cancelled the annual Labour Day Picnic due to COVID-19. However, the GDLC still celebrated with a car parade on Labour Day.

Tim Mathewson, D18 TBU Political Action Officer and a member of the GDLC, participated and wore his "Red for Ed" shirt and flew the OSSTF flag proudly.

As you enjoyed the long weekend, we hope you took a moment to remember that this national holiday was first instituted in 1894 through the advocacy of unions and the labour movement in Canada and each Labour day we celebrate the central role workers play in our society and the hard-fought benefits achieved by the labour movement.
